Oklahoma energy briefs for Dec. 30

Kentucky-based Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline Inc. on Thursday began an open season for firm transportation capacity on its planned Straight Blackwell Expansion, which will transport natural gas in northern Oklahoma from Texas County to Kay County. The proposed expansion is designed to serve the Granite Wash, Cleveland and Tonkawa and Mississippi Lime areas with access to markets in Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri. The line also will connect to other interstate pipelines. Bids are due by 5 p.m. Dec. 7.
