Oklahoma energy briefs for Jan. 18

The federal government plans to hold six public workshops in Oklahoma in the next few weeks to gather comments on a proposed high-voltage, direct-current electricity transmission line from the Panhandle to Tennessee. The Energy Department has started a so-called “scoping period” to determine what should be covered by a future environmental review of Clean Line Energy Partner's Plains and Eastern Clean Line project. Guymon will host the state's first meeting Jan. 28, followed by one Jan. 29 in Beaver. Other meetings will be Jan. 31 in Woodward, Feb. 4 in Muskogee, Feb. 5 in Cushing, and Feb. 7 in Enid. OGE Energy donates computers

OGE Energy Corp. has donated more than 450 used computers to more than 40 nonprofits in its Oklahoma service territory. United Way of Central Oklahoma and Oklahoma Goodwill Industries coordinated the distribution of the laptops and desktop computers. It is the ninth year that OGE Energy has donated used computers. “The donation of these computers will help nonprofit organizations support the many worthy programs they offer in communities across Oklahoma and Arkansas,” Kathleen O'Shea, manager of OGE corporate communications, said in a statement. “This program continues the long tradition of partnership between OGE and community organizations throughout our service area.”

ONEOK plans $500M in projects

TULSA — ONEOK Partners LP plans to invest up to $500 million by 2015 to build a new natural gas processing facility in North Dakota, a natural gas liquids pipeline in Oklahoma and Kansas and modify its liquids fractionation infrastructure in Hutchison, Kansas. “The new Garden Creek III plant increases our natural gas processing capacity to meet producers' needs in the Williston Basin, and the expansion of our downstream NGL infrastructure will offer additional fractionation and transportation capacity for NGLs coming from the region,” said Pierce H. Norton II, executive vice president of ONEOK Partners commercial. “These projects further demonstrate the value of ONEOK Partners' integrated operations and the increased flexibility they give us to better serve Williston Basin producers and downstream customers.”
