Commissioner hosts town hall

Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner Dana Murphy will host a town hall meeting next week in Ardmore on horizontal drilling and related matters. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Ardmore Convention Center. Similar meetings have been held around the state. “These meetings provide a chance for everyone to not only obtain the latest information, but also to ask questions and be heard,” Murphy said. “We have had very large turnouts at meetings in other areas of the state and hope that this will be the largest yet.” The Ardmore meeting will include an update on oil and natural gas activity in Oklahoma and new regulations. Participants will include state Sen. Frank Simpson, the Oklahoma Energy Resources Board, the National Association of Royalty Owners and XTO Energy.
