Devon, CEO will be honored
Devon Energy Corp. and CEO John Richels are finalists for awards at the upcoming Platts Global Energy Awards, which recognize industry leadership. Devon is a finalist for the corporate social responsibility award, while Richels is a candidate for CEO of the year. Finalists were chosen from a list of more than 200 nominations from 26 countries.
Safety brings state funds
Oklahoma will receive more than $1 million from a pipeline safety base grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Transportation's Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration. Nearly $44 million in grants were awarded for pipeline safety programs in 46 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. “We need partners across the country to help us in our efforts to ensure pipeline safety,” said U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood.
Continental offers senior notes
Continental Resources Inc. is offering to exchange up to $1.2 billion in senior notes, the company announced Thursday. The offer is being made to fulfill the company's registration obligations. The exchange offer will expire Nov. 13.
SandRidge exchange offers set
SandRidge Energy Inc. on Thursday announced exchange offers on senior notes due in 2021, 2022 and 2023. The old notes were issues in private placements exempt from registration under the Securities Act, but the new notes will be registered. The exchange offers will expire Nov. 5.
Cactus Drilling hires designer
Oklahoma City-based Cactus Drilling has hired Science Applications International Corp. to provide design and engineering services for an upgrade to its manufacturing capacity. SAIC helped Cactus, the largest privately held land drilling contractor in the U.S., select an 87-acre parcel west of Oklahoma City for its new administration building and fabrication facility. “The place looks fantastic,” said Josh Simons, Cactus' vice president of operations.
