Landscapes on view

“Special Places,” a collection of vibrant landscapes by Regina Murphy, will be featured in the annual “Christmas at The Elms” exhibit at JRB Art at the Elms, 2810 N Walker. The exhibit opens Friday with a 6 to 10 p.m. reception and will remain on view through Dec. 28. Also on view is an assortment of small works by 50 gallery artists.

Floral art offered

Opening Friday with a 6 to 10 p.m. reception at the Visions in the Paseo Art Gallery, 2924 Paseo, is “Flowers in Portrait,” an exhibit featuring floral portraits by David Gill. The works combine photo realism with digital fantasy. “Flowers in Portrait” will remain on view through Jan. 1.

Free museum admission

The Oklahoma City Museum of Art, 415 Couch Drive, is offering free admission from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Various activities organized around the “American Moderns, 1910-1960: From O'Keeffe to Rockwell” exhibit are planned.

Guests can hear the Red Dirt Rangers perform and watch magician Jim Green. Also planned are hands-on activities incorporating cubist collages, zany hats, O'Keeffe flowers and cityscapes. The Metropolitan Library System will offer storytelling sessions for kids.

Basket, jewelry exhibit

“Baskets and Baubles,” an art show featuring the basketry and jewelry of Andrea Kissinger, will open Friday with a 6 to 10 p.m. reception at In Your Eye Studio & Gallery, 3005-A Paseo. The exhibit will be on view through Dec. 30.

Focus on animals

Animal images by Linda Hiller, Ladd Adams, Sheila Minnich, Charlotte Moore and C.J. Bradford are being featured through Dec. 30 at the Summer Wine Art Gallery, 2928-B Paseo. Public receptions are planned from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday and 1 to 4 p.m. Dec. 16.

Opening Wednesday at the Paseo Originals Art Gallery, 2920 Paseo, is “Paper, Trinkets, Baubles & Things,” an exhibit featuring works by Kate Rivers and Francene Levinson. An opening reception is planned from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday. The exhibit will remain on view through Dec. 30.
