University Theatre presents ‘Cherry Orchard’
NORMAN — The University of Oklahoma University Theatre and Helmerich School of Drama present “The Cherry Orchard,” opening at 8 p.m. April 4 in the Weitzenhoffer Theatre, 563 Elm Ave.. Additional performances are at 8 p.m. April 5 and April 10-12 and at 3 p.m. April 6 and 13.
Connor Konz will moderate an audience talk-back session after the final matinee.
Tickets prices are $22 for adults, $18 senior adults, OU faculty and staff and military, and $14 for students. For tickets, call 325-4101.
CityRep announces auditions
CityRep will hold auditions for “The Grapes of Wrath” and “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike” on April 11 and 12, with call backs April 13.
Rehearsals for “The Grapes of Wrath” begin Aug. 14. and performances run Sept. 26 through Oct. 5. Rehearsals for “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike” begin the week of Oct. 6, and performances run Nov. 14-23.
The auditions will take place in the Black Box Theatre in the Wanda L. Bass School of Music at Oklahoma City University. Auditions are by appointment only. For an appointment, call Michael Jones at 410-8035.
Museum of Art schedules classes, film on Sunday
The Oklahoma City Museum of Art is offering several classes Sunday.
“Classical Still Life Painting” is from 1 to 4 p.m., and “Beginning Digital SLR Photography” is from 1 to 5 p.m. today. Both classes are for adults.
Kids' Art Yoga, for ages 6 to 8, is from 2 to 2:45 p.m.
The film “Visitors” will be shown at 2 p.m. “Visitors” is comprised of 74 shots, taking viewers on a journey to the moon and back.

‘Liberty & Freedom’ series
will begin in Edmond
EDMOND — The Fine Arts Institute of Edmond presents award-winning Edmond attorney Don M. Powers and his lecture series “Liberty & Freedom." This series of eight presentations covers the Declaration of Independence and 28 principles of freedom used by the founders to structure the U.S. Constitution.
The free classes start at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the Theater Room of the Fine Arts Institute, 27 E Edwards. The series will continue April 3, 10, 17, 24, and May 1, 15 and 29. Sessions conclude at 8:30 p.m.

Art gallery exhibits ‘Garden Project’
JRB Art at The Elms gallery is featuring a multi-room installation titled “The Garden Project” through Saturday. Oklahoma artists Adrienne Wright and Lisa McIlroy present constructed landscapes in four rooms of the gallery.
“The Garden Project” is a sculptural interpretation of several dynamic landscapes. Using paper, canvas and other natural and inert objects, this constructed garden will feature walking paths, seating and other amenities. It is the artists’ objective to use the modular gardens as an instrument to awaken the public consciousness to the potential of combining art into everyday landscapes.
