ADA -- An Ada firefighter was arrested for allegedly threatening an Ada police officer.

The Ada News reports that District Judge Steven Kessinger issued the arrest warrant for Vincent Jason Smeltz, 42, on suspicion of using a computer system to inflict fear of injury or death.

The newspaper said Smeltz posted bond Tuesday and was released. Charges are pending.

Authorities said Smeltz made threats on Facebook the day after his wife was arrested by officer Brad Rhoads for public intoxication.

Rhoads said Smeltz repeatedly refused to leave the scene of that arrest and even followed him to the police station.
