Canebrake spa and resort

lines up summer events

The Canebrake Spa and Resort, 33241 E 732 Road, will host several events in July, including its annual Patio Pig Roast & Luau and a monthly cooking class.

The annual Patio Pig Roast & Luau is from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday and includes music, summer cocktails and lots of roasted pork. Cost is $65 per person. Reservations are required.

The monthly cooking class with chef de cuisine Sarah Leavell is from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 26. The focus is on Porter peaches. Cost is $45 per person and includes a light lunch, recipes and a tasting of every item prepared.

Odyssey de Culinaire

changes course

This year’s Odyssey de Culinaire events are scheduled for July 24 at the Skirvin Hotel in Oklahoma City and July 31 at Renaissance Hotel in Tulsa.

As usual, the two-part fundraiser will feature local chefs working with local culinary students to create a dinner to benefit the Hospitality Career Initiative of the Oklahoma Hospitality Foundation. The students are in the ProStart program.
