will benefit

March of Dimes

The Oklahoma Pork Council (okPORK) has joined forces with March of Dimes to host a culinary pork competition at Taste of Elegance on Aug. 19.

Oklahoma’s top chefs will bring innovative pork masterpieces to the competition and public tasting at Remington Park starting at 6:30 p.m. Up to 12 Oklahoma chefs will compete in this event, which includes a professional blind judging of the dishes, where each dish will be evaluated on its taste, appearance and originality.

Attendees can sample each of the pork dishes and then nominate their favorite pork creation to win the People’s Choice Award.

March of Dimes is the event beneficiary this year.

The March of Dimes is a national health organization dedicated to helping moms have healthy pregnancies and healthy babies. The mission is to improve the health of babies by working to prevent birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. Its mission is carried out through programs of research, education and advocacy.

Tickets are $20 and include one glass of wine or beer and samples of all the dishes. Call 415-1262 for reservations.

Food truck festival

planned at Airpark

The Skyline Food Truck Festival is scheduled for Aug. 23 at the OKC Downtown Airpark, 1701 S Western Ave. The festival will feature more than 30 local food trucks and a car show, starting at 9 a.m. Activities starting at 11 a.m. will include a kiddie park, a market of local merchants, silent auction and live local music on multiple stages throughout the day.
