okPORK event will benefit March of Dimes
The Oklahoma Pork Council (okPORK) has joined forces with March of Dimes to host a culinary pork competition at Taste of Elegance on Tuesday.
Oklahoma’s top chefs will bring innovative pork masterpieces to the competition and public tasting at Remington Park starting at 6:30 p.m. Up to 12 Oklahoma chefs will compete in the event, which includes a professional blind judging of the dishes, where each dish will be evaluated on its taste, appearance and originality.
Those attending can sample each dish and then nominate their favorite pork creation to win the People’s Choice Award.
March of Dimes is the event beneficiary this year.
Tickets are $20 and include one glass of wine or beer and samples of all the dishes. Call 415-1262 for reservations.

NORMAN — Chuy’s, 760 N Interstate Drive, will celebrate the seasonal iconic green chile Monday through Sept. 7.
The 26th annual Green Chile Festival aims to transport diners to “Pepper Heaven,” where the green chiles start their journey from seeds to full-grown ripe peppers, in the rich and fertile soils of Hatch, N.M.
Chuy’s will introduce a menu of eight green chile-inspired dishes during the three-week period, including Holy Quesadillas!, Green Chile BBQ Chicken Tacos and Frito Pie Enchiladas. To cool down the palate, Chuy’s will feature a frozen Prickly Pear Margarita and Blackberry Rocks Margarita made with Avion Silver tequila. The popular New Mexican Martini, made with green chile infused tequila, is always a festival favorite.
Guests are encouraged to join in on the fun by visiting their local Chuy’s and picking up a free green chile seed packet to grow their own peppers at home and by taking a picture of their favorite Green Chile Festival food item and posting it to Instagram and tagging @chuysrestaurant with #pepperheaven for a chance to win free Chuy’s for a year.
