Wine & Chocolate Festival Set
HENNESSEY — Almost two dozen state wineries, amateur winemakers and chocolatiers have signed up for Hennessey's second annual Wine & Chocolate Festival, which is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p. m. Saturday on Main Street in Memorial Park.
The event includes a wine auction at 7 p.m. Admission is $10 and includes a wine glass, and wrist band for wine and chocolate tastings. If you want chocolate only, admission is $5. No charge for infants or preschool children in strollers. Proceeds go to Hennessey United, a nonprofit civic organization. Chili Cookoff in Claremore
CLAREMORE — The Bluegrass and Chili Festival will be this weekend on the grounds of the Claremore Expo Center, with festivities beginning at 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 11 a.m. Saturday. Rib and Rock Event Planned
TULSA — Just steps from the BOK Center, 200 S Denver Ave., barbecue teams from across the country will showcase their award-winning recipes at the annual Rock 'N Rib Festival on Sept. 13-16. Families are invited to this festival that will fill the streets of downtown Tulsa with a scent of savory sauces, sizzling meats and the sound of live music from 11 a.m. to midnight Thursday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. New this year is an interactive children's area offering face painting, games and inflatables. Admission is free to the public.
Thirst For a Cause Returns
Thirst For a Cause, which celebrates great food and wine while raising money for local restaurant workers without health insurance, is from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Sept. 19. More than a dozen local restaurants and more than 30 wineries will provide food and drink at the Jim Thorpe Museum, 4040 Lincoln Blvd. More than 200 wines will be poured.
Participating restaurants include Bellini's Ristorante, Boulevard Steakhouse, Cafe 501, Cattlemen's Steakhouse, The Coach House, La Baguette Bistro, The Mantel Wine Bar & Bistro, Oak Tree Country Club, Pearl's Seafood, The Petroleum Clubs of OKC, Picasso Cafe, Rococo Restaurant, Stella Modern Italian Cuisine, and Sushi Neko.
Participating wineries include 32 Winds, Arizona Stronghold, Bieler Family, Blackbird Vineyards, Brewer-Clifton, Caduceus, Charles Smith Wines, Charles & Charles, Copain, Dalla Terra Imports, Darms Lane, Dashe Cellars, DuMOL, ecoVINO, Failla, Hedges Family Estate, Hourglass Estate, JAQK Cellars, Joel Gott Wines, K Vintners, La Sirena, Martin Ray Winery, Martine's Wines, Owen Roe, Palmina, Raptor Ridge, Shafer Vineyards, Sineann, Turley Wine Cellars, Vine Connections Imports, Vine Hill Ranch, Vine Street Imports, and Well Oiled Wine Co.
