Reception for Maggie McClure
The Tasting Room, 4318 N Western Ave., will host a VIP reception at 8 p.m. Friday in the Will Rogers Theatre featuring a “Flash Menu” in honor of local singer-songwriter Maggie McClure, who will perform a concert celebrating the release of her new album.
Tickets for the concert are $15 online or $20 at the door. Chef Kurt “Flash” Fleischfresser will prepare one of his signature menus for the VIP preconcert event at 6:30 p.m.
McClure, who is from Norman, now resides in Los Angeles. Her new album, “Time Moves On,” was released Feb. 11.

NORMAN — The Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art will host a public Toast to the Arts from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday to raise money for the museum's student activities and special programming.
Guests ages 21 and older will receive a keepsake engraved wineglass, a cocktail of Cupcake prosecco with St. Germain and a flight of white wines including Ferrari Carano Fume Blanc, Sofia riesling, Eberle moscato, Franciscan chardonnay and Saintsbury rose, provided by Republic National Distributing Co. and Bruce Upthegrove. Sweet and savory foods will be provided courtesy of Local restaurant and Stephanie and Dirk O'Hara of O Asian Fusion.

Oyster fry, craft show set for saturday
FREDERICK — The Frederick Fantastic Oyster Fry and Craft Show will be Saturday at the Prather Brown Center, 211 S 13 St. Visitors can enjoy fried or raw oysters as crafters convene to show their wares. First celebrated in 1952, this event is an annual southwest Oklahoma tradition. Feast on delicious oysters on the half shell, or try them fried in the festival's secret recipe batter plus homemade coleslaw, potato chips, bread, iced tea and coffee. Desserts will be sold separately. The craft show begins at 11 a.m., and the oyster fry starts at 4 p.m. with festivities ending at 7 p.m.
