2001

Quarterbacks: Nate Hybl vs. Jason White

The pick: Hybl.

Dates: Hybl and White were told Aug. 16, the same day OU announced it. The season opened Aug. 25.

The result: Hybl was injured against Texas on Oct. 6 and again on Oct. 13 at Kansas. White started Oct. 20 against Baylor but suffered a major knee injury Oct. 27 at Nebraska. Hybl quarterbacked the rest of the season.

2002

Quarterbacks: Jason White vs. Nate Hybl

The pick: White.

Dates: White and Hybl were told on Aug. 18. OU announced it on Aug. 19. The season opened Aug. 30.

The result: White suffered a major knee injury in the second game, against Alabama. Hybl took over and quarterbacked OU to the Big 12 title and a Rose Bowl victory.

2003

Quarterbacks: Jason White vs. Brent Rawls

The pick: White

Dates: White and Rawls were told on June 18. OU announced it on June 19, also announcing that Rawls would be listed fourth-team on the depth chart.
