Former OU running back Adrian Peterson is already a legend in Minnesota Vikings history, but he said he wouldn’t mind playing a little closer to home someday.

Peterson, who grew up about 110 miles outside of Dallas in Palestine, Texas, said on the “SVP & Russillo” radio show Thursday that he’s thought about playing for other NFL teams before, but only if it was in Texas.

“You know, I’d be a liar if I said it’s something that hasn’t crossed my mind before,” Peterson said on the show. “But I’ve also said to myself it would be so amazing to be one of those players who stays with one team his entire career, it would be good if I could do that. But being from Texas, I’ve always wondered, wow, it would be cool to play in Dallas, to play back home. Or to play in Houston.”

After making the playoffs last season, Peterson is toiling away for the 3-8-1 Vikings. Wouldn’t it be nice to have AD just a stone’s throw away?
