K Uwe von Schamann, Fort Worth Eastern Hills, 1976-78: The best kicker in OU history also had the biggest kick, the 41-yard field goal that beat Ohio State in '77.


DE Kevin Murphy, Richardson Berkner, 1981-85: All-American in '85, Big Eight defender of the year in '83.

DE Reggie Barnes, South Grand Prairie, 1989-92: All-Big Eight for Gary Gibbs in '91.

DT John Goodman, Richardson Berkner, 1976-79: Played five seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

DT Dusty Dvoracek, Lake Dallas, 2001-05: Tommie Harris' sidekick for three memorable defenses.

LB Joe Bowden, Mesquite North, 1989-91: Gary Gibbs' only all-American in six years as head coach.

LB Brian Bosworth, Irving MacArthur, 1984-86: Two-time Butkus Award winner.

LB Dante Jones, Dallas Skyline, 1984-87: Made all-American after Bosworth's departure.

DB Darrius Johnson, Terrell, 1992-95: Played five NFL seasons.

DB Rickey Dixon, Wilmer-Hutchins, 1984-87: 1987 Jim Thorpe Award winner.

DB Scott Hill, Hurst Bell: Excellent safety remembered most for his big hit on Tony Dorsett.

DB Bobby Boyd, Garland: Also a quarterback in the single-platoon days; had 57 NFL interceptions.

P Joe Don Looney, Fort Worth Paschal, 1962: Known for his running and his off-field antics, but an all-American punter in '62.
