Oklahoma football: Bob Stoops insistent he won't bench Landry Jones

Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops insisted on Monday there is nothing that would make him bench quarterback Landry Jones. While addressing the Sooners' 24-19 loss to Kansas State on Saturday, Stoops said Jones might just be trying to do too much.

NORMAN -- Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops insisted on Monday there is nothing that would make him bench quarterback Landry Jones.

While addressing the Sooners' 24-19 loss to Kansas State on Saturday, Stoops said Jones might just be trying to do too much.

"I know Landry is a very bright guy that watching it he will see he's maybe making too much out of something," Stoops said.

Jones had two turnovers in the loss to K-State, including a fumble that was recovered for a touchdown.
