Former Oklahoma quarterback Kendal Thompson transferred to Utah for a shot at being a starter, but Monday, Travis Wilson was listed atop the depth chart.
Thompson was listed second, although coach Kyle Whittingham said he will still play here and there.
Wilson started 16 games through last November before suffering a concussion, the lingering effects of which kept him sidelined until the summer. He saw his first live action since the injury in Saturday’s scrimmage.
Utah open the season against Idaho State on Aug. 28.
Thompson, the son of former OU quarterback Charles Thompson, played sparingly last season as a redshirt sophomore. He transferred after Trevor Knight’s Sugar Bowl performance made it clear who the Sooners’ quarterback of the future was. Thompson graduated from OU, meaning he could transfer without sitting out the normally-required one year.
