Oklahoma picked up its 14th commitment for the class of 2014 Tuesday night when Mesquite (Texas) Horn offensive guard Jonathan Alvarez committed to the Sooners.

Alvarez (6-foot-3, 300 pounds) announced his commitment on Twitter, saying he was “proud to be a Sooner.”

He's the second offensive lineman in the class, joining Alex Dalton of Troy, Ohio, another guard. Both 2015 commitments for the Sooners also are offensive linemen.

Dalton was recruited by offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh and running backs coach and recruiting coordinator Cale Gundy.

Alvarez also had offers from Houston, Louisiana-Monroe, New Mexico State and Northwestern State.

Alvarez's commitment is nonbinding. He can sign beginning Feb. 5.
