DALLAS — Oklahoma released its official football media guide Monday during Big 12 Media Days and — as expected — linebacker Frank Shannon is included.
The junior has started 15 career games and led the Sooners with 92 tackles in 2013.
Included in Shannon’s media guide biography is this: “Led the Sooners with 92 tackles and could be poised for an even bigger campaign in 2014.”
Shannon was accused of sexually assaulting a female campus at an off-campus apartment in January, according to a Title IX sexual misconduct allegation report obtained in April by The Oklahoman.
Cleveland County District Attorney Greg Mashburn declined to prosecute the case, but the university is obligated by federal law to conduct its own investigation.
OU refused to release any information regarding the outcome of that investigation last week, saying no final disciplinary action had been determined yet.
Shannon missed several of the team’s spring practices and didn’t participate in the spring game, but continued to attend class and work out with the team this summer.
