Oklahoma is in a BCS bowl for the first time since 2010. They'll play an Alabama team that has won three of the last four national titles and was on track for another before losing to Auburn 34-28 in the Iron Bowl. The Oklahoman asked for fans' opinions of the matchup on Twitter.
Chris Ohman (@c_ohman): “As an OU fan, I'm pumped about the BCS bowl. As an NCAA football realist, I'm not excited about playing the best team in the country.”
Kevin Boyd (@BoydinOKC): “Stoops' least-talented BCS team since National Championship team would also be his biggest win since National Championship win.”
Connor Kinsey (@Team_GGAG_CZK): “Bob is a great coach and I think he will have them prepared. We will have to be able to run the ball on them. If we do that, we will win.
Matt Williamson (@mattyfresh12): “I'll be very impressed with the defense if they keep Bama from running it down their throat all game.”
Drew Shingleton (@drewshingleton): “Have to stop the run up the middle, keep yards per carry low. Basically can't have another Texas.”
Sam Todd (@PhantomSamurai5): “It's like the East Dillon Panthers season four vs. West Dillon Panthers season 1. Bloodbath.”
Chris Lancaster (@clancasterr): “Excellent measuring stick for the current state of Oklahoma football. Win-win as long as OU can keep it within the spread.”
Mark Scott (@mark_oldschool): “Be careful what you wish for (Coach Stoops) because you just got it.”
Derek Jones (@djones7861): “At least the Cajuns will be on our side this time.”
Zach Milvo (@zachmilvo): “Honestly, I just hope it's close. That's a long way to drive for a blowout.”
Daniel Brimmer (@CoachBrimmer): “It's a great opportunity for OU. Come out and play with the right effort and attitude, anything can happen.”
@toddtiger: “Our 3-4 scheme needs out nose to play lights out. Great tackling and special teams play will reel this in.”
@jeramy_y: “Don't think it's gonna be close. OU by 24. Boomer Sooner!”
@StuckUpSooner: “No-lose situation. Win and it is an upset, lose and nation expects it. Team will be able to judge how far or close they are to national championship.”
