Michael and Renee McCormick were among a large group of Sooners fans who congregated along the fence dividing the stands from the entrance to the OU locker room after Oklahoma's 33-24 Bedlam win Saturday at Boone Pickens Stadium.
“Alabama-Auburn ain't got nothing on Bedlam,” Michael McCormick said as he cheered on the Sooners as they left the field.
The couple from Adair bought the tickets as an anniversary present and never thought about not toughing the cold.
“Are you kidding?” Renee said. “It was worth every penny. That was the best ending ever.”
KNIGHT SIDELINED WITH SHOULDER INJURY
Sooners coach Bob Stoops wasn't sure after the game how severe was quarterback Trevor Knight's injury.
Knight hurt his left, non-throwing shoulder in the final minute of the second quarter when he was hit on a third-down run for no gain.
Knight immediately got up and headed to the locker room.
“With all of the zone reads and option-read type stuff, we didn't feel like it would be right to put him out there again,” Stoops said.
O-LINE THIN AGAIN
The Sooners were once again without left guard Adam Shead and left tackle Tyrus Thompson.
Shead has been out since the Iowa State game while Thompson was injured in the third quarter of the win over Kansas State.
