Oklahoma offensive coordinator Josh Heupel said he doesn’t necessarily notice anything different in quarterback Trevor Knight’s demeanor, but said Knight is more confident now that he is the unquestioned leader of the offense.
“I think it’s his ability to speak with a louder stick in the weight room, in the locker room, for him to put more of his personality, his stamp on an offense,” Heupel said. “Also with our football team, he’s a great leader and a great kid on and off the field. He’s extremely competitive.
“He’s the same guy every single day in the meeting room and on the field. He doesn’t change and hopefully that will transcend to our entire football team.”
Former OU cornerback Aaron Colvin, on his mentality after tearing his ACL in January:
“There’s definitely been down days, but I can’t show anybody that. Anytime I have that down day, I either talk to my parents or I get into the Word. That always gets my mind right. I have no doubts that I’m going to be back and be the best out there.”
