Oklahoma's marquee, Sept. 28 game at Notre Dame has been scheduled for a 2:30 p.m. kickoff, the OU athletic department announced Wednesday.
The game — OU's fourth in its 2013 campaign — will be televised nationally by NBC. The Sooners open the season with home games against Louisiana-Monroe, West Virginia and Tulsa on Aug. 31, Sept. 7 and Sept. 14, respectively, then get a bye week before the trip to Notre Dame.
The Sooners are 1-9 all-time against the Irish, losing 30-13 at home last season. Notre Dame's victory in Norman ultimately helped propel it to the national championship game, where Alabama routed the Irish. Oklahoma's trip to South Bend, Ind., is its first since 1999, Bob Stoops' first season as the Sooners' coach. Notre Dame rallied to beat OU 34-30 in that game.
SOONERS RECEIVE BIG 12 TITLE RINGS
Oklahoma football players received their 2012 Big 12 championship rings Wednesday.
Several Sooners tweeted photos of their rings, which signify Oklahoma's title it shared with Kansas State.
The Wildcats won 24-19 at OU in September, but the teams finished with the same conference record. Because of KSU's head-to-head victory, it earned the Big 12's Fiesta Bowl bowl berth, but both schools were presented conference championship trophies.
