— Oklahoma defensive back Quentin Hayes announced Wednesday via Twitter that he is no longer under suspension.

Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops confirmed that Hayes has been reinstated. Stoops said Hayes, a sophomore, is redshirting but is now eligible to play if needed.

Hayes has been on suspension, along with wide receivers Jaz Reynolds and Trey Franks, since May 20 for violating team rules. Reynolds and Franks remain suspended.

Hayes saw time last season on special teams.

When Stoops was asked about Hayes' performance in practice, he brushed the question saying, “He practiced like everyone else practiced today. He doesn't deserve any talking about.”

DAMIEN WILLIAMS, LANE JOHNSON INJURIES BEING WATCHED

Left guard Lane Johnson and running back Damien Williams are still recovering from ankle injuries they suffered Saturday.

Stoops said Johnson is coming along quicker than Williams and did more in practice than Williams.

“We're still unsure,” Stoops said about whether the two will be available for Saturday's game against Iowa State.

Stoops said he will provide another update Thursday after practice.

If Williams is unable to play Saturday, Stoops said the starting back would be Dominique Whaley.
