The Sooners received their third commitment in three days Monday when Texas high school wide receiver Dannon Cavil flipped to OU.
Cavil had been committed to California since last month. Before that, he was committed to Ole Miss.
Cavil (6-foot-5, 205 pounds) is the Sooners' 20th commitment for the 2013 class and the fourth wide receiver.
“Recruiting has been a BLESSING and a curse. Im (sic) glad its all over,” Cavil tweeted before tweeting that he'd committed to the Sooners.
Rivals.com reported the commitment switch not long before Cavil's announcement.
Cavil's commitment, combined with Young's, likely signals the end of the Sooners' involvement with Laquon Treadwell, the nation's top wide receiver prospect, according to Rivals.com.
Treadwell visited Norman in December and was in Stillwater over the weekend for a visit to Oklahoma State.
He's expected to announce his decision Thursday, with Ole Miss being the favorite, while OSU and OU were also listed in his top three.
Rivals reported Monday night that the Sooners and Treadwell had “parted ways.” Cavil, from San Antonio's James Madison High, is expected to enroll later this week and go through spring practice with the Sooners.
OU also has commitments from wide receivers Austin Bennett (Manvel, Texas), Jordan Smallwood (Jenks) and K.J. Young (Perris, Calif.).
Young committed to the Sooners on Sunday, a day after Garland, Texas, defensive tackle Charles Walker committed.
GOODMAN CLARIFIES WEEKEND TWEET
Four-star prospect Tahaan Goodman visited Oklahoma last weekend, and one tweet the Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., safety posted Friday night sent some of Sooner Nation into a frenzy.
“Wow don't even got a host ... smh weak,” tweeted Goodman, who Rivals.com ranks as the nation's fourth-best 2013 safety.
Sunday, Goodman (6-foot-2, 185 pounds) told Rivals that the host issue had nothing to do with OU coaches.
“They had someone (as) my host but he just left; we had him in the restaurant so I just didn't have (a host),” Goodman said. “I guess a lot of the players weren't there, because they were still back home or whatever with their families. I think I had one and then he just left.”
