Oklahoma football notebook: Sooners in play for 4-star cornerback Kendall Randolph?

The Tallahassee, Fla., prospect, who holds offers from dozens of programs including Alabama, Auburn and Florida State, tweeted Saturday night that he'd just gotten off the phone with Sooner cornerbacks coach Bobby Jack Wright

“That's a good-looking group. We'll have one of the better-looking ones in the country next year. We went from not having any to having one of the best.”

Despite losing starting defensive tackle Jordan Phillips to a back injury in October, the Sooners' rotation of Grissom, Jordan Wade, Chuka Ndulue and Charles Tapper more than held their own.

When one reporter joked that next year, everyone will question Oklahoma's secondary, Stoops responded, “You'll be writing about something. There will be a problem somewhere. There will be a crisis somewhere.”

Cornerback Zack Sanchez, on bouncing back from his early Sugar Bowl struggles:

“It's kind of overwhelming, you know? But that's not an excuse. I missed a couple tackles that I shouldn't have missed and I've just got to make those plays. To be able to bounce back and make those plays, I think it helped out my team.”
