It didn't take long for the recruiting weekend to pay off for Oklahoma.

The Sooners picked up two commitments Sunday night, one from a tight end and another from a defensive lineman.

Junior college tight end Isaac Ijalana and high school defensive end Dwayne Orso committed after both visited for Saturday's game against Iowa State.

The 6-foot-5, 235-pound Ijalana also had offers from Illinois, Akron and Bowling Green.

Ijalana has spent this season at Pierce College in Woodland Hills, Calif., after spending last year at Lackawanna College in Scranton, Pa.

He is originally from Mount Holly, N.J., and has three seasons to play two years. Ijalana is expected to graduate in December and be in Norman for the spring semester.

His brother, Ben Ijalana, is an offensive lineman for the New York Jets.

Orso (6-foot-6, 255 pounds) is from Homewood, Ala., and was previously committed to Western Kentucky.

He also had offers from Arkansas State, Middle Tennessee State and UAB.

PUNT RETURN NEARLY DIDN'T HAPPEN

Just before the half, the Sooners nearly went the safe route on a punt return, trailing 10-3.
