Oklahoma quarterback Trevor Knight was one of the players who modeled the Sooners’ new alternate uniforms earlier this month.
He said one of his favorite things about them is that Oklahoma’s prolific football history was considered when the new uniforms were designed.
Many fans reacted negatively to the new looks because they like that — before this — OU remained one of the few big-time programs to avoid the alternate uniform craze.
“These uniforms spice it up for recruiting and all that stuff, but they bring out the history,” Knight said.
OU coach Bob Stoops has said the Sooners will stick to their traditional look the vast majority of the time, and only use the alternate uniforms occasionally.

Oklahoma added junior-college offensive guard Tony Feo late in its 2013 signing class, and the 6-foot-3, 300-pounder appeared in 12 games last season, mostly on special teams.
