Oklahoma football: OU center Gabe Ikard has broken finger

Center Gabe Ikard suffered the injury early in Sunday's practice. It is not known how long he will be out.

Oklahoma center Gabe Ikard suffered a broken ring finger on his right hand early in Sunday’s practice, a source confirmed to The Oklahoman. Ikard’s injury was first reported by ESPN.

It is not known how long Ikard will be out. If he has to miss the rest of spring football, sophomore Ty Darlington will likely step in at center.

Darlington stepped in for Ikard during last season when Ikard suffered a concussion the week before the Baylor game.

Ikard was named to the All-Big 12 first team after the 2012 season.
