Charles Davis, who will be the game analyst on Fox's Cotton Bowl coverage, has released his top five players to watch for the 7 p.m. game. Friday. Davis will broadcast the game with play-by-play announcer Gus Johnson, on-field analyst Petros Papadakis and game reporter Julie Alexandria. Rules analyst Mike Pereira will be in the booth to offer his perspective on controversial calls.
Erin Andrews will host the 6:30 p.m. pregame show with analysts Joey Harrington and Eddie George. The show will include interviews with Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel and former Clippers star Blake Griffin, a former OU standout.
Davis' top five list:
Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel: “First freshman to ever win the Heisman Trophy and he's done things that no player has ever done in the SEC, breaking records that Cam Newton set when he won the Heisman Trophy at Auburn. Oklahoma is going to be chasing him all night.”
OU quarterback Landry Jones: “He had some rough outing early but is playing his football as the season ends. He still has a chance to raise his stock in the NFL draft, and leading Oklahoma to a win Friday night will do that.”
Texas A&M defensive end Demontre Moore: “He's a former outside linebacker they moved to defensive end and was a finalist for best defensive end in the country. He's a terrific player who can make a huge difference.”
OU wide receiver Kenny Stills: “He started the season in the slot, moved out wide and he's all over the place. He's one that Texas A&M will have to corral to be successful.”
Texas A&M offensive tackle Luke Joeckel: “He's been a starter since he's been a true freshman and played beyond that capacity since then. Projected by many to go No. 1 overall in the NFL Draft.”
