Oklahoma football recruiting: Linebacker Jordan Mastrogiovanni decommits, decides on Texas A&M

The Dallas Jesuit product flirted with the idea of switching to Texas A&M earlier in the season. He made it official Sunday night.

The recruiting fallout from Oklahoma's Cotton Bowl loss to Texas A&M didn't take long to manifest.

Linebacker Jordan Mastrogiovanni, who had been committed to the Sooners since June, flipped to the Aggies on Sunday night.

The Dallas Jesuit product entertained the idea of flipping earlier in the season after a visit to College Station but eventually opted to stick with Oklahoma.

The switch leaves the Sooners with two linebacker commits, but both could wind up playing other spots at the college level.

Tulsa Washington's Dominique Alexander (6-foot-2, 195 pounds) and Norman North's Jordan Evans (6-3, 205) could wind up elsewhere on defense.

Mastrogiovanni (6-3, 225) was Oklahoma's only pure linebacker commit.

The loss of Mastrogiovanni comes almost a year after the Sooners lost De'Vante Harris to the Aggies.

Harris had three tackles in Texas A&M's 41-13 Cotton Bowl win Friday.

Oklahoma also lost a defensive line commitment, Polo Manukainiu, to Texas A&M last season.

Before those switches, it had been four years since an OU commit shifted to A&M.

The loss leaves the Sooners with 15 commits for the 2013 class. Two players have already signed.

Also Sunday, ESPN.com reported that Sooners defensive back commit Ahmad Thomas would enroll this month.
