Oklahoma football recruiting notebook: Jenks' Jordan Smallwood turns in big game against Putnam City

Last season's wide receiver class came to Norman highly heralded.

The two receivers who have committed to the Sooners so far this season aren't as highly thought of as a group, but Jenks' Jordan Smallwood and Manvel (Texas) receiver Austin Bennett have been solid.

Smallwood, who came on strong over the summer to earn an Oklahoma offer, had a big game in the Trojans' 46-14 win at Putnam City on Thursday night.

Smallwood had a 40-yard touchdown catch on the first drive of the season have and finished with eight catches for 135 yards.

Bennett came up with some big plays in the Mavericks' 42-28 win over Pearland.

Bennett had a 42-yard touchdown catch late in the first half.

Another potential wide receiver in the class, Tulsa East Central's Stanvon Taylor, had five catches for 72 yards and a touchdown in the Cardinals' win.
