Oklahoma football recruiting notebook: Jordan Smallwood happy to see in-state athletes commit to OU
Jenks' Jordan Smallwood was glad to be joined in the last month by Tulsa Washington's Dominique Alexander and Norman North's Jordan Evans as well as 2014 running back Devon Thomas of Broken Arrow.
After Cy Ranch scored with 1:06 left, they went for a two-point conversion.
Ford found his way into the end zone to cut the deficit to 42-36.
Cy Ranch recovered the onside kick and Ford scored his third touchdown of the game from 5 yards out with 11 seconds remaining to give Cy Ranch the win.
Ford rushed for 133 yards and two touchdowns on 33 carries and caught a 75-yard touchdown pass.
DIMON, KATY ROLL
Katy (Texas) avenged a playoff loss from a year ago Saturday, beating La Porte 55-10 at Reliant Stadium in the Division II-5A region semifinals.
Matt Dimon, a defensive end who has committed to OU, played a big part as the Tigers held La Porte to just 41 yards of total offense and one first down.
La Porte's only touchdown came on an interception return for a score.
“We created some turnovers right off the bat and really put them in some bad situations where we were able to capitalize on it,” Dimon told the Houston Chronicle. “Obviously the scoreboard — that says it right there.”
Dimon's Tigers will face another future Sooner next week, playing Ford's Cy Ranch team at 1 p.m. Saturday at Rice Stadium.
