Oklahoma football: Secondary facing questions

Wilson started all 13 games last season at nickelback. That spot is likely to be filled by senior Quentin Hayes, last year’s strong safety.

Sophomores Hatari Byrd and Ahmad Thomas are competing with true freshman Steven Parker, a former Jenks standout, for the safety spots.

“I think they’ve all had good camps,” said defensive coordinator Mike Stoops. “We haven’t really set a final rotation, but I’m rotating all four of them at different positions. So they’re all interchangeable pieces for us.

“All four will play. They all have worked hard and deserve the opportunity to play.”
