Both Osborne and Switzer became their schools' head coaches and won three national championships each; the coaching legends met 17 times, with OU winning 12 of those contests.
The once-great OU vs. Nebraska series took its first big hit with the Big 12 Conference's split into North and South Divisions; the rivals were only scheduled to meet in two out of every four seasons.
The Sooners and Cornhuskers have played 86 times, with Oklahoma holding a 45-38-3 series advantage. The last time they played was in the 2010 Big 12 Championship game, which the Sooners won 23-20.
Today, Nebraska is nearing the end of its second Big 10 Conference season.
