Oklahoma football: Sooner fans want their team to beat Mack Brown, but they'd be unhappy to see him go

Saturday's Red River Rivalry game between Oklahoma and Texas might be Mack Brown's last stand. Many Sooners fans, though, are a bit unhappy at the possibility that the former OU assistant appears to be on his way out.

— Oklahoma fan Brad Wilson likes Mack Brown.

“Mack Brown seems like the kind of guy you'd like to go fishing with,” Wilson said. “He seems like the kind of guy you'd like hanging out with.”

Then there's the “but.”

“But it seems like his teams are a little bit entitled,” said Wilson, who lives near Thackerville. “Texas kind of goes down and lays down its helmet and they win a lot of games that way.”

Saturday's Red River Rivalry game between Oklahoma and Texas might be Brown's last stand.

After early season losses to BYU and Ole Miss, it might take a miracle — in the form of a Big 12 title — to save Brown's job.

“I think it is his last year barring they go on some six- or seven-game win streak,” Mikey Hutchens of Prague said.

With Oklahoma having blown out the Longhorns in each of the last two seasons, though, that seems like a long shot.

Many Sooners fans, though, are a bit unhappy at the possibility that the former OU assistant appears to be on his way out.
