Oklahoma rose four spots in both the AP and coaches’ top 25 rankings — to No. 14 to No. 10, respectively — after its dominating 41-20 victory Saturday at Texas Tech.

The Sooners’ next opponent — archrival Texas in Dallas’ Cotton Bowl next Saturday — fell to No. 15 in both polls after the Longhorns lost at home to West Virginia on Saturday night.

The Mountaineers, meanwhile, leapt into the top five in both polls — No. 5 in the AP poll and No. 4 in the coaches’ poll.

Kansas State, which accounts for Oklahoma’s only loss of the season, beat in-state rival Kansas on Saturday and rose to No. 6 in the AP poll and No. 5 in the coaches’ poll.

The only other Big 12 team in either rankings is Iowa State, which snuck into the coaches’ poll at No. 25 after its win over TCU this weekend. The Horned Frogs dropped 10 spots to No. 23 in the coaches' poll.

Texas Tech had been ranked by the coaches, but fell out after the OU loss.

Oklahoma State, which had a bye this weekend after last Saturday’s close — and controversial — home loss to Texas, didn’t receive any votes in the AP poll, but did earn a few from coaches.
