Oklahoma football: Sooners get commitment from former Oklahoma State pledge Ogbonnia Okoronkwo
Oklahoma picked up a commitment Wednesday at the expense of Oklahoma State.
Houston Alief Taylor defensive end Ogbonnia Okoronkwo switched his commitment for the Cowboys to the Sooners.
Okoronkwo (6-foot-3, 220 pounds) had been committed to Oklahoma State since June.
In addition to OU and OSU, Okoronkwo's offers include Kansas, Purdue, SMU, Texas Tech, Utah and West Virginia among others.
Okoronkwo is the 15th Sooners commitment for the 2013 class and the third defensive end.
He joins Matt Dimon of Katy, Texas, and former Lawton standout D.J. Ward as commitments at the position. Ward is expected to enroll in January.
Okoronkwo's commitment is non-binding. He can sign beginning Feb. 6.
Okoronkwo's switch was first reported by Rivals.com.
The last Cowboys commit to flip to the Sooners was Demontre Hurst. Hurst switched in 2009.
