— Oklahoma might have found Michael Hunnicutt’s replacement.

The Sooners picked up a commitment from Belleville, Ill., kicker Austin Seibert on Friday night, he tweeted.

Hunnicutt has converted 86.1 percent of his career field-goal attempts. He was a semifinalist for last year’s Lou Groza Award, given annually to college football’s best kicker.

The Sooners’ backup kicker, Nick Hodgson, will also be a senior in 2015.

OU will also need to find a replacement for punter Jed Barnett, who transferred to Oklahoma from a California junior college last spring.

Seibert is ranked as the nation’s No. 1 kicker — and the No. 2 punter — in the 2015 recruiting class by Kohl’s kicking camps.

He is the Sooners’ fourth commitment for the 2015 signing class.

Verbal commitments are non-binding. Prospects cannot sign until February 2015.
