Justin Brown made sure to wait before for he celebrated Saturday night.

He needed to hear the word ‘touchdown' after an official review.

Brown's night didn't start off so well after a fumbled first-quarter punt return. But it quickly took a turn for the better when he took a punt back for a touchdown.

During the second quarter of Oklahoma's eventual 52-7 blowout of Kansas, Brown caught a punt at the 10-yard line, ran 90 yards and dove with an outstretched arm to get the ball into the end zone.

The play was reviewed, making it the second time in the past year a punt return for a touchdown by Brown was reviewed.

When Brown played at Penn State last year, he had a 93-yard punt return that looked like it was a touchdown during the Nittany Lions' bowl game against Houston. That return was called back because Brown's foot touched the out-of-bounds line.

“When I heard it being reviewed,” Brown said, “I thought, ‘Oh no, not again I hope I didn't step out.'

“I just wanted to score so badly.”

Brown's 90-yard return on Saturday was the first punt returned for a touchdown for Oklahoma since former star Ryan Broyles took one back in the 2009 Bedlam game. It was also the longest since Antonio Perkins ran one back for 91 yards in 2002 against Tulsa.
