R.J. Washington may not be the captain of the defense, but he will be the guy who steps up and leads the team onto the field. He did it many times last year, even when he didn't have a starting spot. Since the captains are already out on the field, Washington knows somebody needs to lead the Sooners onto the field, so why not him?

Honestly because my locker is right by the exit door, I'd just wait and then kind of slide off to the side and then kind of get out in front.

We're just the rest of the team running out. Landry will already be on the field, but if Landry wants to do it, let him go ahead. Or if anyone else wants to do it, go ahead.

Frank (Alexander) told me once ‘Hey back up.' And I was like ‘Alright.' But if they don't say anything, I'm running out.
