Do you have any fresh recruiting news for the Sooners? Do they have any other recruits coming in for visits?
The most interesting, latest news for the Sooners, in my opinion, is their struggles to lure very many offensive tackles. George Adeosun is a guy from Georgia that didn't have very many offers until recently, but OU just offered him within the last week, and he visited last weekend. Adeosun is a late bloomer.
Are there any guys on the OU football roster that redshirted last year and may have a positive impact this coming season?
I would look at Jordan Wade (DT), Derrick Woods (WR) and Taylor McNamara (TE) as three guys who redshirted who could make big impacts. Wade is talented, but still very raw according to coaches and other players. Derrick Woods was outstanding on scout team last season, and McNamara might've played a lot more late in the season if he hadn't been hurt early. I think he'll begin the season as the starting tight end.
What are your thoughts on Landry's performance Saturday? Will it have an impact on his draft status?
By all accounts, Landry Jones did very well throughout the week before the game, but then struggled in the game. It just raises a few more questions about his inconsistency that plagued him throughout his college career. He's still got the combine and other workouts to improve his stock. Lane Johnson has pushed himself into mid-first round status according to most reports from guys who were there. He's really skyrocketed up draft boards.
Who will be the starter at tight end for the Sooners in 2013?
I think at this point it's likely to be redshirt freshman Taylor McNamara. Brannon Green displayed flashes of his potential, but was obviously too inconsistent to earn much playing time last season.
Who will be the front four starters on defense next season?
At this point, I'd say Geneo Grissom, Chuka Ndulue, Jordan Phillips and Quincy Russell.
How close, if at all, was Jay Norvell to joining the Chicago Bears staff? It would have been a blow had he left IMO?
