And yes, I agree that it would've been a huge blow.
Who will replace Tress Way?
I think Jed Barnett, the junior-college transfer who has already signed with OU and enrolled, is the favorite.
Most heralded OU recruit for 2013?
Four-star RB Keith Ford shot up the final Rivals100 rankings. According to most rankings, he's the top prospect in OU's class, so I'd have to go with him.
Is David Wilson or Alex Ross better? Is it too early to tell?
It's too early to tell. My gut says Ross, but that might not be fair, considering I'm a lot more familiar with him since he's an Oklahoma kid. But when I saw him on the field before the Bedlam game, he looked huge, like he's really bulked up since high school.
Where do you think Drew Allen will end up?
That's a great question. It's really hard to say, but I do believe he'll find an FBS home. He'll be immediately eligible at his new school because he'll have graduated. I think we'll find out fairly soon where he's headed.
How many Sooners will go in the NFL draft?
Good question. Landry Jones, Lane Johnson, Kenny Stills, Tony Jefferson, Demontre Hurst will be picked. Then there are a bunch of guys who could be picked, but are kind of on the fence. It'll be very interesting to see how it all shakes out.
Do you think with a new QB, we will see an increase in under center plays? A little option? Some play action?
I'm not sure exactly how, but it's a virtual guarantee that the offense will be tweaked with a new quarterback. Blake Bell and Trevor Knight each have mobility that Landry Jones didn't have, so that alone will mean some obvious changes. I'm not sure about going more under center, though. I don't think that's likely.
Do you think Mike Stoops will have any influence on asking the offense to slow down a little more and go with more ball control?
We've asked coaches about slowing the offense down for the defense's sake, but Bob Stoops and the offensive coaches have said they don't think it makes all that much of a difference, so I'm not sure there will be any changes in that regard.
