In the TV spot, which debuted in late October, a viral video of a high school player flipping over an opponent eventually causes Stoops to introduce himself, saying, “Hello.” The voice saying it, though, most certainly isn't Stoops'.

The Oklahoma coach responded to the question Wednesday with, “Hello. Give AT&T a plug right there.

“They approached me a few weeks before one of our off weeks and asked me if I would be a part of a commercial.”

Stoops said he went to Putnam City High School to film the spot on a Thursday night, so he wouldn't miss any practice time.

“I think I was there from 11 at night until 1 to 1:30 in the morning for that ‘Hello.' That's how bad I am. It took two-and-a-half hours to say that. I don't know how many takes.

“It just sort of came that way. It just felt the recruiting exposure and putting the program in front of people never hurts. As long as it fits your schedule.”

Asked about the voiceover, Stoops said, “The voiceover? I don't know. They made me say hello about 50 times. I believe they used one of those and clipped it in. You'd have to ask them. I'm not the editor.”

JONES, JOHNSON ACCEPT SENIOR BOWL INVITES

Oklahoma quarterback Landry Jones and offensive tackle Lane Johnson each accepted invitations to play in the 2013 Senior Bowl, set for Jan. 26, 2013, at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala.

Jones and Johnson were invited Dec. 21, and chose to play Wednesday, according to the Senior Bowl's official Twitter account.

The two Sooners won't be the only Cotton Bowl participants in Mobile, though; Texas A&M receiver Ryan Swope also accepted his Senior Bowl invitation Wednesday.

Swope is the Aggies' second-leading receiver this season, catching 64 passes for 809 yards. He leads the team with his seven touchdown receptions, which includes a season-long 80 yarder.

The Senior Bowl, first established in 1950, showcases NFL Draft prospects who have completed their eligibility. The game and its practices will be broadcast on the NFL Network.

Jones and Johnson bring Oklahoma's all-time Senior Bowl participant number to 102. Cornerback Jamell Fleming was the only Sooner to play in last year's game.

HOW ALABAMA WIN VALIDATED A&M'S MOVE TO SEC

Few victories in recent years have carried the ramifications of Texas A&M's win at Alabama on Nov. 10. The upset gave Johnny Manziel the Heisman Trophy and validated the Aggies' move to the Southeastern Conference.

“We try not to look at the past,” said A&M defensive end Damontre Moore. “But that win was like the stepping stone in helping turn this program around, showing people we're as talented as we knew we were.
