Meier said OU assistants Jay Boulware and Jay Norvell have told him that at Oklahoma, he'll be a “flexed-out tight end.”
“I like that because you get to catch a lot of passes and score a lot of touchdowns,” Meier said.
Meier said he didn't grow up a fan of any particular college football team because he comes from a pretty diverse family in that regard.
“My family's all split up,” Meier said with a laugh. “My dad played basketball at TU; my mom went to OSU; my sister went to OU ... I was always in the middle.
“I guess they'll all have to like OU now.”
While he's convincing family members to don crimson and cream, Meier has also gone to work on some fellow Tulsa-area prospects.
Meier began with his good friend and Tulsa Union teammate Jeffery Mead, a 6-6, 175-pound wide receiver who ended up committing to Oklahoma exactly a month after Meier did.
Now, Meier said he's working on four-star Jenks safety Steven Parker, who holds more than 25 scholarship offers from big-time programs around the country, including two-time defending national champion Alabama.
“I bugged (Mead) about it every day,” Meier said with a laugh. “I really want both of them to come because they're really good friends of mine.”
