Oklahoma football: What players and coaches were saying after the blowout of Texas

by Stephanie Kuzydym Published: October 13, 2012

Here's a look at what players and coaches were saying after Oklahoma's 63-21 rout of Texas:

* Oklahoma QB Landry Jones on his team's attitude against Texas:

“We're gonna attack. We're gonna set the pace and we're gonna set the tone. We're not gonna sit around and wait for anyone to tell us what to do. We're gonna go out there and play hard, play tough and play physical football.”

* Oklahoma DE R.J. Washington:

“You always want to keep your foot on their throat and just break their will. You break their will and they're done. .... I got that sense. ... They got that chant going in the second quarter like ‘La la la OU sucks!' and I was like ‘Really , that doesn't even sound like they believe that.'

* Texas FS Kenny Vacarro on stopping OU's running game:

“When they are running the ball down your throat, honestly everyone is trying to stop the run. So sometimes linebackers take their eyes away from their man ... You can't stop the run and it opens up the playbook.”

* Oklahoma LB Tom Wort:

“Everyone was locked in. The attitude was there. Everyone played their role and did their job. It showed that you don't have to be Superman out there. You just have to do your job and work as an 11-man unit and you're gonna do good. I'm really proud of the guys.”
