Oklahoma football: What they're saying about the Sooners' 51-20 win over Tulsa

Defensive coordinator Mike Stoops on his young players' performances:

“When you're young, you rush. You're rushing everything, learning how to disguise and moving with the flow of the game. It's hard for young players just because they are so in a hurry to get things done.”

Coach Bob Stoops on improvements moving forward:

“There's a lot to improve on, but a lot that's really good when you can win 51-20 against a really good team.”

Tulsa coach Bill Blankenship, on playing with lots of freshmen:

“They don't give you extra points because you are playing young guys. You have to bring the guys you have and play. Call it crazy, but we believe we can come in and compete and we didn't at the level we thought we would.”

Tulsa senior running back Trey Watts, on playing on his father's home field:

“I've been thinking about this game since I stepped on campus. I've wanted it for a long time, but we just couldn't get it done today.”
