The Oklahoman's Jason Kersey took questions from readers in today's OU Power Lunch Chat. Join our Power Lunch Chats Monday-Friday at 11 a.m. on Here's a recap of today's Q&A:

Jason Kersey 11:00 a.m. Hello everyone. Hope you're having a great week so far
BoomerBoy 11:09 a.m. Jason, Other than the quarterback battle, what other notable battles should Sooner fans focus on during the Spring Game and into summer and fall workouts?
Jason Kersey 11:12 a.m. I think wide receivers and the secondary are two position battles that will be interesting. OU lost its two top receivers from last season, but brings back lots of young talent, plus an experienced, but troubled, guy in Jaz Reynolds. Will Reynolds have his head on straight and be able to contribute? If so, it will make a big difference for whoever the quarterback is next season. In the secondary, true freshmen like Ahmad Thomas, Hatari Byrd and LJ Moore will all get opportunities to contribute early in their careers.
JenksSooner 11:14 a.m. I realize we won't find anything out in the Spring, but who is your pick to get the starting nod at qb? Also, do you see a scenario where the Sooners use Trevor Knight as the starter and keep the Belldozer package?
Jason Kersey 11:15 a.m. I'm a lot less confident in this pick than I was at the beginning of spring, but I'm sticking with Blake Bell. Bob Stoops almost always goes with experience (Nate Hybl, Paul Thompson) in these QB battles. But I wouldn't rule out Kendal Thompson, either. I think he's really done better than a lot of people expected, and might even be outshining Trevor Knight at the moment.
Guest 11:23 a.m. Is Trey Metoyer gonna live up to his potential this year?
Jason Kersey 11:25 a.m. I think he's got a shot. Metoyer is still a very, very talented guy and he's extra motivated this year. I think the year off while he was at military school really hurt him football-wise, and maybe that's why he had trouble re-adapting.
Guest 11:30 a.m. Who has been the one most pleasant surprise offensively and defensively thus far during spring practices?
Jason Kersey 11:34 a.m. Offense I think Dannon Cavil, the true freshman wideout, and defensively, probably Ahmad Thomas, the true freshman safety.
