Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence awards banquet set for May 19

The Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence is a nonprofit designed to recognize and encourage academic excellence in Oklahoma public schools. Through its academic awards program, the foundation has awarded nearly $4 million in scholarships and cash awards.

The banquet will be at 6:30 p.m. May 19 at the Renaissance Tulsa Convention Center, 6808 S 107 East Ave. The keynote speaker will be CNN host and journalist Fareed Zakaria. David L. Boren, founder and chairman of the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence, will serve as the emcee. The Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute Orchestra will perform. Tickets are $50.
