Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin comes out against state question removing governor from parole process

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Gov. Mary Fallin has withdrawn her support for a state question that would remove the governor from the parole process for nonviolent offenders.

State Question 762 will appear on the Nov. 6 ballot.

Fallin said that although she is generally supportive of the concept, recent events led her to believe it is not the right time for the Governor's Office to be removed from its oversight of the Pardon and Parole Board.
